Top 5 Glasses

To us, cocktails are like a work of art and deserves a fitting presentation. However, these days a trip to the glassware store can be a little overwhelming with so many styles, shapes and sizes to choose from. For those of you just starting out, or looking to restart a collection, here are the top five glasses you should have in your bartending cabinet:

Martini: This V-shape glass is a must have, but be modest when it comes to size. These glasses should not be bigger than 7oz. as a true martini warms up too much in the time it takes to drink such a large one.

Flute: Flutes are perfect for all your Stirrings champagne cocktails as their tall and slim design helps to maintain the wine’s fizz.

Collins: This is the typical tall glass and has the same capacity as a high ball glass (12 oz.). A Collins glass is the choice for most drinks that must be stirred (like the Mojito), and is also ideal for our Cocktail Sodas or beer cocktails.

Coupette: This is better known as a Margarita glass. Its rim deserves a nice salty coating.

Sour: This is a smaller glass which is narrow at the stem and tapers out to a wider lip. As the name would suggest, it is used for serving Sours.

One last tip we thought might be helpful. Does your shaker always stick together when you shake up some delicious Stirrings cocktails? If yes, simply store with the top upside down and cap inside. Storing your shaker this way will prevent the sticking.
