We believe that great food and drinks, enjoyed with friends, is an absolute. It cannot be challenged. It is one of the few combinations that will always make you happy, give you pleasure, and give you pause for reflection. All is right with the world, all is well.

Chasing this ideal has taken us off the beaten path at times. Down back roads to find that great restaurant. Across the street to "borrow" ripe August tomatoes in the middle of the night. Sprinting across the city for a spectacular sandwich. But it is always worth it.

It is with this inspiration that Gil and I started Stirrings. We both spent time tending bar in college - Gil at St Lawrence's Tick Tock, a local college bar near campus, where he served mostly beer and "Beam and Coke." I worked at Chadwick's, an old Georgetown drinking establishment tucked under the railroad tracks near the harbor where I tended bar on Thursday nights. This was not high end bartending, but we saw the pleasure and value in serving friends beverages in a fun atmosphere, and a seed was planted.

In 2000, we introduced our first bar products - Rimmer® brand cocktail garnishes - that grew out of our spice rub line, Nantucket Off-ShoreTM. The products were a response to the old margarita salt that we had always enjoyed around the rim of our margaritas. Using mint, cilantro, lime and sea salt, we introduced our Margarita Rimmer® Cocktail Garnish in July of ‘00 in New York. The response was overwhelming. Since then, we have introduced more than 50 amazing cocktail ingredients in our lines of Rimmer® Cocktail Garnishes, Cocktail Mixers, Cocktail Essences, Cocktail Sodas, and Bar Ingredients. Under the name Stirrings, we have set out to make people think the same way about their beverages as they do about food: better ingredients lead to better taste and better times.

At Stirrings, we use only the finest cane sugar, only the freshest juice, and triple filtered water. We can't claim that drinking is healthy, only that better, brighter taste can only be achieved by using great ingredients. The alternative product is manufactured using artificial colors and flavors, corn syrup, preservatives and no juice. The taste is noticeably different. Our new approach to a century old American tradition has turned heads, and made a lot of people think differently about how they make their cocktails. We like to think we are stirring up the cocktail world by helping people stir better cocktails.

Thank you for trying Stirrings, where we encourage you to drink better.
