Remember your first evite? All of the sudden it was so easy to send and keep track of invitations, and get a convenient heads up on who you’d be seeing at an upcoming get-together (eliminating countless awkward collisions with exes!). The only downside? Well, let’s just say that the program left many of us wanting something more design-wise, not to mention the extra hassles involved if you were inviting folks that didn’t have access to the internet, so common with family gatherings.

Guinness in Nigeria, Zubrowka in Japan, Corona in the United States. As I travel, I continue to be amazed by stories of household spirit brands that were introduced by passionate, persistent importers. It defies logic. Why would Guinness, the cultural icon of Ireland, become a top beer brand in Nigeria, some 3,000 miles away? Or why is a Polish vodka, Zubrowka, now the “call” brand in trendy bars in top Tokyo hotels?
This cocktail judging event was attended by more than 10,000 consumers. There were 65 different martinis served by every major and minor spirit brand. From Grey Goose to Jack Daniels to Zen Green Tea Liqueur....every brand and spirit company was represented -- it was a major event!
